Adults Advanced Practitioner
Qualified Social Worker
Mental Health Review Team
Location: Greater Manchester
Pay rate: £40 per hour

Our client is seeking Qualified Social Workers to join the Adult Services within the Mental Health Review Team for a local authority in the North West. Candidates must have previous experience in Adult Social Care and a strong understanding of relevant legislation, including the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Human Rights Act, and Mental Health Act. The team handles screening of safeguarding referrals and managing complex safeguarding cases. Successful candidates will be responsible for conducting Care Act assessments, Mental Capacity Assessments, safeguarding and multi-agency work, and fulfilling duty functions within the team.

In accordance with social care legislation and local government policies, you will support the delivery of person-centred, safe, and effective social care services. Your professional knowledge and experience will enable you to make assessments and determine appropriate interventions. Utilizing your significant Social Work experience and excellent communication skills, you will establish and maintain relationships with service users and agencies to meet their needs.

You will be dedicated to ensuring positive and sustainable outcomes of your interventions. Employing best practices, you will aim to provide the best outcomes for service users, especially children, supporting their families to thrive. Our priority is to protect the most vulnerable and ensure efficiency.

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Registered with Social Work England as a Qualified Social Worker
  • Holding SW, CSS, DipSW, or a Social Work Degree, with a creative, flexible, and forward-thinking approach
  • Experienced in working within a Social Services Directorate or similar statutory or voluntary agency
  • Committed to continuous improvement and achieving the best outcomes for individuals and families
  • Skilled in mediation and negotiation on behalf of service users
  • Capable of working with diverse client groups within an agency
  • Excellent at building meaningful relationships with children and families to facilitate assessments and planning
  • Dedicated to providing high-quality services
  • Experienced in working within a multi-disciplinary, interagency environment
  • Knowledgeable about legislation relevant to general social work practice
  • Having 4+ years of qualified experience

In this role, you will:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of risks, protection needs, and social care requirements
  • Manage an agreed caseload
  • Utilize specialized communication skills to achieve optimal outcomes
  • Develop individual care plans respecting diversity and promoting dignity and empowerment
  • Provide advice and support to unqualified staff and students for their development
