Your new company: We are looking for support workers with the right values and attitudes to join a large provider of care in South Wales. They provide support to adults with learning or physical disabilities across Swansea and Neath Port Talbot.
Your new role: The role of support worker will consist of supporting with the delivery of a range of care to adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, and additional health needs. You will be involved in providing both personal and physical care in line with each individual’s care plan. This may involve administering medication, liaising with external professionals, and providing access to themmunity. You will also support in maintaining and improving individuals' wellbeing through participation in activities such as arts and crafts, sports, shopping trips, holidays, and other activities. They operate on a flexible rota, with scope to do both short and long days. Flexibility is essential to deliver services over the full range of hours, including days, nights, weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-ins.
What you will need to succeed: To be successful in the role of support worker, experience is not required. However, you will need a committed and motivated attitude towards personal and professional development, including willingness to undertake training to improve your standard of care. The ability to complete domestic tasks such as cooking and cleaning is essential, as well as supporting to create a safe and comfortable environment for those you support. You should display a calm and non-judgmental manner, with the ability to handle stressful situations. A full UK driving license and flexibility to work various shifts, including days, nights, sleep-ins, and weekends, are required.
