Job summary

Northern Health and Social Care Trust is hiring an Adult Support Worker for East Antrim Short Break and Supported Living Services. The role involves supporting adults with learning disabilities within Short Break Services and Supported Living Settings, as part of a multidisciplinary team led by management staff.

Applicants should have NVQ Level 2 in care (or equivalent), a full UK driving licence, and be willing to work flexible hours including sleepovers.

Qualifications

• NVQ or QCF Level 2 in care
• Clear verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Willing and able to work flexible hours including sleepovers and waking night duty

Responsibilities

• Help create a relaxed, homely environment enhancing quality of life for service users
• Assist service users with practical day-to-day living tasks and promote independent living
• Support planning of social and leisure activities and accompany as appropriate
• Provide transport as required in own vehicle or Trust transport
• Implement, monitor, review, and evaluate care plans with service users and carers
• Develop community links and access community facilities to complement building-based activity
