Main Duties/Responsibilities

As an Adult Psychiatry Consultant with Midlands Partnership, you will:

• Conduct assessments of new referrals, deliver therapy, or refer to psychology colleagues for interventions, and follow up on medication reviews.
• Formulate care and treatment plans, prescribe treatments, and guide evidence-based practices.
• Support patients and their families, communicating diagnoses and treatment options clearly using various methods.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team on shared decision-making.
• Lead or participate in multidisciplinary team activities.
• Assess and prioritize patient needs, delegating tasks appropriately.
• Monitor patient conditions, noting any changes, and report to the team.
• Perform administrative tasks such as record-keeping, prescribing, and monitoring treatments.
• Teach and train junior doctors, medical students, and team members.

Qualifications/Licenses/Certifications

• MBChB or equivalent.
• Hold CCT or CESR at the time of interview or in an established training program, within six months of CCT.
• Be on GMC's Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCT or CESR (CP) at interview.
• Recent NHS experience within the last 3 years (minimum 6 months).
