Job summary

Adopt North East is seeking an Adoption Support Worker on a maternity cover basis. Based with the Family Connections Service, you will provide direct support to families affected by adoption, including maintaining birth family relationships and enabling positive outcomes for children.

Applicants should have a Level 3 qualification in Child Care, Health or Community/Youth work or equivalent, plus relevant experience with children, young people and families.

• Minimum Level 3 qualification in Child Care, Health or Community/Youth work, education or equivalent.
• Relevant experience working with children, young people and families to achieve outcomes.
• Ambition to deliver high-quality adoption services.

Responsibilities

• Delivers direct advice, help and support to those affected by adoption, particularly related to maintaining relationships with birth family members.
• Support the Family Connections Service and enable innovative approaches within adoption support.
• Work with adopters, birth relatives and children to achieve positive outcomes.
