Powys County Council is recruiting a part-time Social Worker in the Adoption Team based in Llandrindod Wells. You will assess prospective adoptive parents, support children in need of adoptive placement, and coordinate adoption services for birth and adoptive families.

You will work hybrid as part of a multi-disciplinary team, meeting deadlines and using your knowledge of the adoption process to deliver positive outcomes for children. An Enhanced DBS check is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in carrying out assessments to a high standard.
• An awareness of the adoption process.
• Flexibility and ability to organise and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work within a team and provide support when needed.
• A passion for achieving the best outcomes for children.

Responsabilités

• Meet prospective adoptive parents and, if appropriate, assess them for meetings.
• Family find for children in need of an adoptive placement by working with other practitioners to secure placements in a timely manner.
• Attend meetings integral to children and their families.
• Provide post adoption support as part of the wider team.
• Work as part of the wider adoption collaborative.
