Job summary

Leicestershire County Council seeks a Senior Practitioner for the Permanence Team to manage complex child care cases, complete Child Permanence Reports and lead matching for adoption and fostering with robust analysis and high standards.

You will supervise staff, chair meetings, and drive trauma-informed practice within care proceedings and family finding, while supporting staff development across the service. Hybrid working is possible.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience in statutory social work practice.
• Experience in care proceedings and adoption placement support.
• Knowledge of adoption regulations and trauma-informed practice.
• Experience supervising workers and/or students.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operation of the Permanence Team, deputising for the Team Manager.
• Chair matching meetings for long-term fostering and provide oversight.
• Complete Child Permanence Reports and Adoption Support plans with tight deadlines.
• Lead on Signs of Safety practice development and supervise others.
