Job summary

City of Doncaster Council is seeking an Adoption Panel Adviser to support the One Adoption South Regional Adoption Agency. The post covers Doncaster and Rotherham panels, with occasional work in Barnsley and Sheffield.

You will ensure high standards in advice to panels and ADM’s, participate in quality assurance, and contribute to policy implementation. The role requires a qualified social worker with a minimum of five years post-qualifying experience and may involve some management

Qualifications

• Qualified social worker with at least 5 years post-qualifying experience.
• Some management experience preferred.
• Experience in adoption or child services is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice to ADM and adoption panels regarding adopter approvals and matches.
• Quality assure paperwork for child permanence reports and adoption placement reports.
• Support staff training on writing child permanence reports and panel processes.
• Induct and train panel members and administer panels to ensure smooth operation.
