Job summary

Liverpool City Council is recruiting for an Adoption Deputy Team Manager (Recruitment & Assessment Team) in Merseyside. The post leads the team responsible for recruitment, assessments, matching and ongoing adopter support.

The service emphasises high-quality social work practice, collaboration across agencies and a commitment to positive outcomes for children and families. This permanent, full-time role is based at Edge Hill and includes agile working options.

Qualifications

• Qualified, SWE actively registered social worker with experience in Children’s Social Care.
• Extensive knowledge of adoption processes and panels.
• Experience in recruitment and assessment of adopters.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and supervision to the Recruitment and Assessment Team.
• Ensure safeguarding compliance and adherence to legislation.
• Collaborate with partner authorities in Merseyside.
• Support Team Manager and supervise social workers.
• Oversee adopter recruitment, preparation, assessment, matching and support.
