Job summary

Coventry City Council is seeking an Adolescent Support Worker to help children and young people return home after care. You will work with families in their homes, alongside social workers and therapists, to reach positive outcomes and provide ongoing support.

The role involves managing a portfolio of families, delivering intensive interventions in a crisis-aware setting, and working shift patterns with evenings and some weekends. Fixed term until March 2028.

Qualifications

• Experience and passion for working with children and families as described in the role.
• Ability to stay calm in crisis situations and support families at home.
• Willingness to work in shifts, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Support children and young people in returning to live with their families after a period in care.
• Work intensively with families to help the child move home and provide ongoing support.
• Collaborate with social workers and therapeutic practitioners to reach family goals.
• Manage a portfolio of families and deliver a flexible crisis response with safeguarding at its heart.
