Our vision is clear, and our social workers are unwavering in their commitment to putting children and families at the centre of their practice.

Be part of our inspiring team, making a meaningful difference in the lives of Coventry's children. Together, let's create a nurturing environment where every child's potential can flourish.

What is the job role?

We are seeking an Adolescent Support Worker to support children and young people in returning to live with their families, following a period of being looked after by the Local Authority. You will work intensively with families to support the child in moving home and then continuing to offer ongoing support. You will work alongside social workers and therapeutic practitioners to help families to reach their goals.

In this role, you will be working with Children and young people, open to children’s social care services.

As an Adolescent Support Worker, you will manage a portfolio of families, working directly with young people and their families within their homes. Providing a flexible crisis response service with safeguarding at its heart, you’ll complete initial assessments and develop strong skills in delivering intensive interventions.

This is an exciting opportunity to have a role in combining direct practice and contributing to service and professional development.

The role is shift work (Mon-Fri with shift times being 8.30 am-5 pm, 10 am- 6 pm or 11.30 am- 8 pm). The role also includes occasional weekend work on a rota basis. This post is fixed term until March 2028.

All candidates must have the Right to Work in the UK. We are currently not offering sponsorship for this role.

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

Who are we looking for?

Are you innovative, positive, dedicated and not afraid of change or challenge? Then help us to transform the lives and futures of children & young people on the Edge of Care.

You will need to be passionate about working with children, young people and their families, have a reassuring presence, be calm in a crisis, and be able to work with families in their homes, helping them make the necessary changes to stay together.

You are a team player with a flexible approach, willing to work on a shift basis that includes evenings and weekends.

It is essential that you bring experience of working with Children & Families and hold at least a Level 3 NVQ in Children & Young People.
