Job summary

Jobtailor in Ipswich is seeking an administrative supporter to manage DoLS referrals and assist Best Interest Assessors. You will handle documentation, respond to enquiries, and help coordinate assessments within a team focused on safeguarding human rights and wellbeing.

Ideal candidates will have solid IT, communication, and confidentiality skills, with prior business support experience and a basic understanding of DoLS and the Mental Capacity Act. DBS checks are required for relevant posts.

Qualifications

  • DBS checks or police vetting required for relevant posts.

Responsibilities

  • Support the full administrative process for receiving, recording, and progressing DoLS referrals.
  • Respond to enquiries from care providers, hospitals and other professionals as part of the core Business Support team.
  • Assist Best Interest Assessors by managing documentation and coordinating assessment activity.
  • Ensure compliance with the Local Authority’s statutory duties.
  • Contribute to a high-quality service that safeguards individuals’ human rights and wellbeing.
  • Work collaboratively with Best Interest Assessors, fellow Administrators, care providers, hospitals and partner agencies.
  • Process cases fairly, professionally and respectfully.
  • Ensure restrictions are necessary, proportionate and regularly reviewed.
