Administrative Officer (Flourishing Futures Programme)
Life and Mind Building, South Parks Road, Oxford OX1 3EL
We are looking for an Administrative Officer to join a small, highly integrated, cross-Departmental and cross-institutional team delivering the new Flourishing Futures programme, which aims to nurture the next generation of leaders through connection with nature.
You will work primarily on the programme's biodiversity policy strand, providing administrative and project support to the Conservation and Sustainability Consortium of Academic Institutions (CASCADE). Initially, you will support UK evidence projects, including work with JNCC and Defra, helping to connect academic research with real-world biodiversity policy. You will help coordinate opportunities for postgraduate students to gain first-hand experience of research-to-policy work.
This is a varied role encompassing project administration, coordination of meetings and events, liaison with academics, students and external partners, preparation of project documentation, and support for project finances and contracts in liaison with the Oxford grants team.
You will have excellent administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to manage a varied workload, prioritise effectively, and work accurately to deadlines. You will be a confident written and verbal communicator, comfortable working with a wide range of colleagues and external stakeholders. You will be able to work independently and use your initiative while enjoying working collaboratively as part of a team.
This would be an ideal role for someone with an interest in biodiversity conservation and policy who would like to gain experience working at the interface between research and policy.
