Position Summary
Provide administrative support, project management and organizational coordination for the Division of Student Success and Engagement (SSE).
Education Required
Associate’s degree
Education Preferred
Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
Experience Required
3 year project management experience, 3 years office management, 5 years writing

- Ability to effectively manage projects, including the capability to distinguish between value/non-value activities and establish priorities
- Strong technology skills and expert use of Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint as well as experience with Canvas, Teams, Zoom, Qualtrics and website maintenance
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, including drafting effective correspondence, presentations and reports
- Experience with developing and managing budgets, including reporting
- Discretion in handling sensitive/confidential information
- Strengths in problem identification and exercising sound judgment
- Proactive planning and resourceful problem solving
- Excellent at cultivating relationships of trust and respect

Duties
Essential Employee N/A Primary Duties
- Provide support for daily operations of the Office of SSE, DOS, and DFYE including managing calendars, greeting visitors, answering phone calls, and handling routine questions.
- Manage communications for the Office of Student Success and Engagement, Dean of Students (DOS), and Director of First year experience and Student Leadership (DFYE), including Division announcements and presentations, external correspondence and the SSE website.
- Facilitate updates/publication of the Student Handbook – including gathering campus-wide feedback, generating materials, editing and coordinating the project with Messiah Press.
- Gather yearly data and manage publication of Student Success and Engagement’s Annual Report and departmental dashboards.
- Coordinate SSE division annual budget development process; oversee SSE budgets.
- Support recruitment efforts and employee searches, maintain up to date position descriptions for the Division and act as point of contact for all SSE personnel requests.
- Assist in Division-wide event planning.
- Provide guidance and direction to all SSE Division administrative assistants, ensuring they are up to date with any changes to University policies and procedures.
- Document current policies related to the Student Success and Engagement Division, including updating CANVAS and TEAMS SSE sites.
- Coordinate compliance tracking and reporting for Student Success and Engagement. Ensure deadlines are met for required reports.
- Utilize tracking system for professional development and oversee Division-wide professional development fund usage.
- Coordinate the performance review, performance management and performance feedback process for the Division and maintain tracking and communication plan. Schedule training as deemed appropriate.
- Develop programs to improve the efficiency in the office and overall support staff operation – identify areas where projects can be delegated.
- Act as the first point of contact for the Division addressing issues effectively with sound judgment, readily identifying the nature of problems and making appropriate choices as to next steps.
- Maintain consistent and reliable attendance and office presence.
