A leading healthcare provider seeks an Administrative Manager to oversee administrative services in prison healthcare. The role includes developing systems, supporting patient care, and managing staff. Ideal candidates will have a degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience and possess strong leadership skills.
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff across various clinical and non-clinical roles. We provide acute hospital, primary, community, and mental health services to a population of over 1.15 million, expanding to 2.2 million when regional and national services are included.
This is a permanent, full-time position. The shift pattern is Monday – Thursday 08:00-16:30, and Fridays 08:00-15:30, with alternative Fridays 08:00-16:30.
The post involves managing administrative services within the Prison Health Care Services at HMP Low Moss. The post holder will ensure a safe environment for prisoners and staff, lead the development and evaluation of administrative systems, and support the operational management of the prison healthcare facilities.
Key responsibilities include developing and providing administrative support, facilitating effective patient care through NHS systems, auditing work, and supporting the work of the Prison Health Care Business Support team. The role may require travel to other establishments such as HMP Greenock and HMP Barlinnie.
The post holder will also maintain effective support for staff, management, and clinicians, including scheduling rotas, setting objectives, and providing training. Leadership, management, and advice to administrative staff are essential components of this role.
Qualifications required include a degree or HNC in Business Administration and/or Information Technology, or equivalent experience demonstrating competence at this level.
Experience in managing staff within a large, multi-functional service and knowledge of General Practice Administration are desirable.
