What You’ll Be Doing

This is a great opportunity for an experienced administrator to join our Children’s Centre & Family Hubs team. To assist Business Managers in providing a high-quality administrative service to a busy and demanding Early Years multi‑agency team. May include administrative support to weekend services after 5pm.

As a first point of contact, you will deliver excellent customer service to internal and external customers. Key duties include:

  • Providing a welcoming professional reception service.
  • Accurately entering, monitoring and updating data on various in‑house systems – MOSAiC, EIS, SystmOne.
  • Supporting the administration of activities and programmes in the engagement of families.
  • Administering office procurement systems using Oracle finance and Excel – placing, receiving, receipting orders, checking payments and processing nursery fees and contracts using ASH.
  • Supporting other administrative duties such as minute‑taking and contributing to meetings and events.

We are recruiting for two full‑time and one part‑time Administrative Officer positions, with occasional travel to other council offices, voluntary organisations and statutory agency venues as required.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and requires an Enhanced DBS. Camden also offers a DBS update service.

To be considered for this role, it is essential the successful candidate is fully proficient in MS Office packages – Outlook, Word and Excel – and has previous experience working with sensitive, confidential data in a professional manner.

Key skills and experience:

  • Organisational and planning skills to deliver first‑class administrative support.
  • Excellent front‑of‑house experience in a busy reception area and ability to multi‑task efficiently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to resolve challenging situations and complex queries.
  • Ability to liaise with different stakeholders, including internal and external suppliers.
  • Excellent time‑keeping, accuracy and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Flexibility to work from multiple settings and out‑of‑hours events as required.
  • Positive, proactive mindset and initiative for productivity in a fast‑paced environment.
