About The Team

The Team Around the School Support Hub sits within Surrey's Early Intervention, Prevention and Support Service. We work alongside schools, settings, families and partner agencies to strengthen inclusion, build capacity and provide support at the earliest opportunity.

Through Surrey's developing Experts at Hand approach, we are enhancing Surrey's offer by creating stronger local connections around schools and settings. This enables timely support, coordinated responses and earlier intervention when needs emerge. Our focus is on helping children and young people access the right support at the right time by bringing together expertise, information and services around local communities.

As Surrey prepares for Local Government Reorganisation, this is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of integrated, locality-based services that will support future ways of working across the county.

About The Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to join an innovative and evolving service that is strengthening how support is coordinated around schools, settings, children, young people and families across Surrey. Working alongside TASSH Cluster Coordinators and wider Early Intervention colleagues, you will play an important role in keeping systems, information, meetings and partnership activity organised, accurate and connected.

As a TASSH Assistant, you will provide dedicated customer support, data administration, routine management information and coordination support across Surrey's cluster model. Working closely with TASSH Cluster Coordinators and colleagues across Early Intervention and Prevention Services, you will play a key role in ensuring that systems, meetings, performance information, partnership activity and operational processes run smoothly and effectively.

In this varied role, your key responsibilities will include:
  • Coordinating meetings, events and partnership activity
  • Maintaining records, databases and tracking systems, and supporting referral and monitoring processes.
  • Producing, maintaining and presenting routine management information and standard reports
  • Supporting communication with schools, settings, partners and commissioned services
  • Maintaining action logs, outcome records and evidence of service activity
  • Acting as the first point of contact for routine enquiries and escalating more complex issues to senior colleagues when required
  • Providing administrative and data support across the TAS SH, Experts at Hand and Placement Stability functions

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys bringing structure and organisation to complex environments, takes pride in delivering high-quality support and is motivated by helping colleagues and partners work effectively to achieve positive outcomes.

Experience within education, SEND, children’s services, local government or another multi-agency environment would be advantageous, but we also welcome applications from candidates with strong transferable skills in business support, data administration, coordination, customer service and information management.

An enhanced DBS 'Disclosure and Barring Service' check for regulated activity (formerly known as CRB) and the Children's and Adults' Barred List checks will be required for this role.

This job advert closes at 23:59 on Sunday 6th September 2026 with interviews planned to take place during the week commencing 21st September 2026.

Candidates who are shortlisted will be advised of the specific interview date and format following the shortlisting process.

Local Government Reorganisation (LGR)

Surrey County Council is undergoing Local Government Reorganisation, moving from a two-tier system to two new unitary councils in April 2027. If you are employed by Surrey on 1st April 2027, your role will transfer with current terms and conditions to one of the new organisations, supporting local devolution and greater powers for our communities.

Our Commitment

We are a disability confident employer which means if you have shared a disability on your application form and have evidenced you meet the minimum shortlisting criteria, as displayed on the advert, we guarantee you an interview.

Your skills and experience truly matter to us. From application to your first day, we're committed to supporting you with any adjustments you need, we value inclusion and warmly welcome you to join and help build a workplace where everyone belongs.
