Job summary

Cambian Pengwern College in Rhyl is seeking an Administration Assistant to provide financial and administrative support within the college. You will balance petty cash, process pre-payments, and help manage student allowances while maintaining accurate records.

The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines in a busy college environment, with a typical Monday–Friday, 08:00–16:30 schedule and a salary of £26,436.80 plus Cambian Benefits.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility for petty cash balancing weekly.
  • Oversee weekly pre-payment card uploads and card checks.
  • Oversee and distribute student weekly allowances.
  • Complete weekly finance reconciliations and related spreadsheets.
  • Assist with procurement and departmental expenditure.
  • Maintain accurate financial and administration records.
  • Carry out general office procedures including reception, photocopying, emailing and phone duties.
  • Attend meetings and participate in training as required.
  • Minute meetings when required.
  • Undertake other duties as required.

Administration Assistant Cambian Pengwern College Location: Rhyl, Denbighshire Salary:£26,436.80 + Cambian Benefits Contract type: Permanent., Full Time Monday- Friday 08.00 - 4.30pm This is a fantastic opportunity to join Cambian Pengwem College at a really exciting time and to play an integral part in the team approach to support in the positive change and reinvigoration of the College.

The senior leadership team has a clear vision for the Growth of the service and is in the process of overseeing a number of ongoing developments.

The College has a proud and successful tradition of supporting young people between the ages of 16-25 to build valuable life skills and gain qualifications and confidence that will support them on their journey towards future independence.

Purpose of the role: As the Admin Assistant you will be responsible for the provision of administrative and finance related support within the college, undertaking a key role in providing a first-rate customer service both internally and externally.

You will effectively liaise with a range of stakeholders, work with the admin team to support the financial aspects of the College.

Key Tasks for Administration Assistant are: Take responsibility for Petty Cash ensuring it is balanced on a weekly basis.

Oversee weekly pre-payment card uploads and card checks.

Oversee and distribute student weekly allowances.

Complete weekly finance reconciliations and associated spreadsheets.

Assist with procurement for the College and departmental expenditure.

Keep good, accurate financial, management and administration records, which are easy for others to access as required.

Carry out general office procedures including: reception cover, photocopying, sending information by email, answering telephone and redirecting calls as necessary.

Participate in meetings and training events as required.

Minute meeting as and when required.

Undertake other duties as required.
