Adecco is hiring a Maintenance Operative in Newcastle. You will perform reactive and preventative maintenance, including safety checks, PAT testing, and inspections. The role requires coordination with the resident community and adherence to health and safety policies.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day reactive and preventative maintenance tasks.
• Conduct planned maintenance including fire alarm testing and lighting checks.
• Carry out regular building patrols for safety and maintenance needs.
• Complete scheduled flat inspections and address issues promptly.
• Maintain records of gas safety and PAT testing.
• Ensure property documentation is up-to-date and compliant.
• Follow health and safety policies and assist with risk assessments.
• Engage with students to understand and address their needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Performing day-to-day reactive and preventative maintenance tasks.


• Conducting planned maintenance activities, including fire alarm testing, emergency lighting checks, and water hygiene monitoring.


• Carrying out regular building patrols to identify maintenance needs and health & safety risks.


• Completing scheduled flat inspections and addressing any identified issues promptly.


• Maintaining accurate records of all maintenance activities, including gas safety inspections and PAT testing.


• Ensuring all property documentation files are up-to-date and compliant.


• Adhering to health and safety policies, including managing risk assessments and method statements.


• Engaging with students to understand and address their needs.

Key Requirements

• A relevant qualification in plumbing, joinery, or electrical systems (preferred).


• Previous experience in domestic electrical/plumbing/general maintenance.


• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.


• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.


• The ability to prioritise your own workload effectively.


• A willingness to work collaboratively with the team, including covering reception and admin duties.
