We are recruiting Additional Learning Support Officers to join our Centre of Excellence SEND

(Full time or part time contracts available)

Salary: £24,484 - £25,674 per annum, pro rata dependent on contract type FTC

We are currently seekingdedicated and motivated individuals to join our multi award-winning team as an Additional Learning Support Officer. This role will involve supporting students with additional learning needs, ensuring they have equal access to education and the opportunity to reach their full potential.

The Role

You will provide a full range of support for students with complex needs, enabling them to access the full College provision.

  • Provide one-to-one support to students with additional learning needs, including those with disabilities, learning difficulties, or special educational needs
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to create inclusive learning environments and adapt teaching materials as necessary
  • Assist in the preparation of materials, equipment and assistive technology.
  • Administer medication and carry out routines and techniques appropriate to stated needs of the individual.
  • Promote inclusive learning experiences throughout the College.
  • Develop ways of assisting students to communicate effectively and appropriately to ensure their views are able to be understood.

As a Support Officer will have far reaching effects, we are looking for someone who is really looking for a chance to make a difference and go the extra mile to ensure our amazing SEND students get the support they need to thrive in this fully inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities For Our Additional Learning Support Officers

  • To provide Additional Learning Support to students with SEND across the whole range of college provision. To include work placements, enrichment activities and external visits.
  • Assist in the preparation of materials, equipment and assistive technology.
  • Support students support needs, welfare and social well-being in College time.
  • Support students with access to facilities within the College, work placements and external visits.

To be successful as an Additional Learning Support officer, you will need:

  • Previous experience of working in a similar role or in a relevant educational or caring setting would be an advantage but not essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for this role, with the ability to build rapport and adapt communication styles to suit individual needs.
  • A demonstrated commitment to the active promotion of equality of opportunity.
  • A minimum of Level 2 English and Maths (minimum grade 4/C at GCSE).
