Job Advert Role Description
Priory Hospital North London is recruiting for a skilled Addictions Therapist or Counsellor to join our small and dedicated team, in supporting us to deliver a range of Addiction services including our 28-day inpatient programme, Day therapy programme, Aftercare and Outpatient therapy. As part of a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) this is a unique opportunity to work alongside some of the leading Consultant Psychiatrists in the field of addiction treatment within a forward-thinking private psychiatric hospital environment.
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual, with experience delivering addictions treatment to adults with substance and behavioural addictions. The ideal candidate will have experience working with the 12 Step Recovery model and delivering group therapy with empathy, integrity and strong organisational skills.
The successful candidate should hold practitioner accreditation status with a relevant recognised therapy body.
This post requires the post holder to work a minimum one evening per week.
Key responsibilities:
-Deliver evidence-based treatment interventions: Competency delivering psychological treatment for substance and behavioural addiction in a group and one-to-one format. Ability to develop collaborative formulations and tailor treatment to each individual’s needs, involving families when required. Adherence to the evidence-based models and NICE guidelines. Be able to develop therapeutic relationships with patients to support their engagement in treatment.
-Multi-disciplinary collaboration: Work closely with psychiatrists, nurses and the wider therapy department to provide a holistic, person-centred approach to care. Develop positive working relationships with the hospital team and professionals that support our work.
-Strong written and verbal communication including clinical record keeping.
