Job summary

Wirral Council is seeking an Adaptation Technical Officer within the Home Adaptations & Improvement Service of Housing Services. The role focuses on delivering grant/loan funded home improvements and adaptations, working at pace to achieve high standards, and autonomous as well as team-based collaboration.

The successful candidate will negotiate, design, and monitor schemes, ensuring CDM compliance and timely delivery for vulnerable Wirral residents, with training and support provided.

Qualifications

  • Able to specify and design domestic adaptation & disrepair schemes meeting client requirements.
  • Monitor works by contractors in line with CDM and regulatory guidance.

Adaptation Technical Officer
About The Role

An exciting opportunity has become available in the Council's Home Adaptations & Improvement Service within Housing Services; we are looking for a dynamic customer focused individual used to working at pace with a focus on delivery to high standards and the ability to work autonomously; as well as part of a team.

About The Candidate

We are looking for someone with direct experience of facilitating the delivery of grant and/or loan funded Home Improvement and Disabled Adaptation Schemes and who is comfortable working in a fast paced environment, skilled in negotiation & problem solving, specifying and designing domestic adaptation & disrepair improvement schemes of work to ensure they meet the determined need of the client, and be able to manage multiple projects and ensure delivery of agreed schemes within specified time scales. The candidate also will be expected to have the relevant skills to monitor and ensure the works carried out by appropriate contractors in line with CDM to the required standard and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, CoP & manufacturers guidance.

The successful candidate will be joining a team committed to delivering home adaptations & improvements for some of the most vulnerable Wirral residents and will be provided with the relevant training & support to thrive in this team.
