Job summary

Pulse Healthcare is seeking a Band 7 Locum Clinical Lead Speech and Language Therapist to oversee the inpatient stroke pathway at Calderdale Royal Hospital in Calderdale. The post requires HCPC registration and proven leadership within acute stroke care, with responsibility for mentoring a multidisciplinary SLT team and maintaining high clinical standards.

Qualifications

• HCPC registered and experienced Locum Speech and Language Therapist.
• Experience with adult caseloads, particularly in stroke and dysphagia.
• Proven leadership skills and ability to manage and develop a clinical team.
• Ability to work within budget, contribute to service development and MDT meetings.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the inpatient stroke pathway and lead the SLT team.
• Coordinate service delivery across multiple settings.
• Perform specialist assessments and develop evidence-based care plans.
• Provide supervision, support, and training to the team.
• Contribute to recruitment, clinical audits and MDT meetings.
