Job summary

East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust seeks an experienced Physician Associate to join the Acute Medicine Directorate at Royal Blackburn Hospital. You will provide expert support to the multidisciplinary team for adults with acute medical conditions, under Consultant supervision, delivering safe and patient-centred care.

This 12-month fixed-term, 37.5-hour week role offers regular consultant supervision, opportunities for teaching, research and quality improvement within a forward-thinking Acute

Qualifications

• Postgraduate Diploma in PA (Accredited UK).
• Current and valid certification or recertification of the National Certifying Examinations for Physician Associates (Royal College of Physicians).
• Experience working as a Physician Associate in hospital or community setting.
• Registered on the Faculty of Physician Associate Managed Voluntary Body.
• Passed and completed 1 year post graduate preceptorship.
• Advanced Life support course certification (ILS/ALS).

Responsibilities

• Assess and examine patients, initiate investigations and recommend management.
• Under Consultant supervision, participate in ward rounds, medical triage, and clinics.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality care.
• Engage in teaching, research, clinical governance and quality improvement.
• Liaise with other professionals and complete patient documentation.
