Job summary

The Methodist Church in Britain is seeking a Consultant in Acute Medicine to join the Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust team. You will assess acute medical patients on the AMU and SDEC, support junior doctors, and participate in weekend on‑call duties.

The post involves leading clinical decisions, developing care pathways, and contributing to teaching, research, and service development in a consultant‑led environment.

Qualifications

• GMC registration in good standing.
• Higher medical qualification such as MRCP, MRCS or equivalent.
• Completion of at least one specialist skill as defined by the Society for Acute Medicine.

Responsibilities

• Assess and review acute medical patients on the AMU/SDEC and carry out clinical procedures.
• Provide senior input to decisions taken by junior medical staff on AMU/SDEC.
• Cover weekend on‑call rota and take clinical responsibility for all medical patients in the trust.
