NHS Tayside
Fixed Term ST1/2 and ST3+ Level Clinical Fellows
Specialties: Acute and General Medicine, Medicine for the Elderly

Applications are invited by NHS Tayside for Fixed Term ST1/2 and ST3+ equivalent Clinical Fellow positions in Acute Medicine, General Medicine, and Medicine for the Elderly. Multiple posts are available, with successful candidates based at Ninewells Hospital or Perth Royal Infirmary.

These positions will commence in August 2025 for an initial duration of 12 months.

Eligibility: Applicants must have successfully completed Foundation training or an equivalent qualification.

Post Details:
  • Protected development time of up to half a day per week
  • A designated mentor throughout the post
  • Experience in acute care settings such as AMU
  • Opportunity to attend local teaching sessions, including for PACES

Out-of-hours work will be on the AMU ST1/2 rota, supported by resident on-call Registrars at all times, or on the ST3+ rota if applicable. Applications for daytime hours only, with no out-of-hours commitment, will be considered.

These posts offer a valuable opportunity for doctors to develop experience in various medical specialties, engage in quality improvement and teaching, or support postgraduate exam preparation.

There may be potential for those interested in a longer-term, non-training grade role to progress to a substantive specialty doctor position within Acute and General Medicine, with support for skill development, including in medical high-dependency.
