Job description

NHS TAYSIDE
FIXED TERM ST1/2 and ST3+ LEVEL CLINICAL FELLOWS
ACUTE AND GENERAL MEDICINE AND MEDICINE FOR THE ELDERLY

Applications are invited by NHS Tayside for Fixed Term ST1/2 and ST3+ Clinical Fellow positions in Acute Medicine, General Medicine, and Medicine for the Elderly. Multiple posts are available, with successful candidates based at Ninewells Hospital or Perth Royal Infirmary.

These positions will commence in August 2025 for an initial period of 12 months.

Requirements: Applicants must have successfully completed Foundation training or equivalent.

Post Benefits:
  • Protected development time of up to half a day per week
  • A designated mentor throughout the post
  • Experience in acute care settings such as AMU
  • Opportunity to attend local teaching sessions, including those for PACES

Out of hours work will be on the AMU ST1/2 rota, supported by resident on-call Registrars, or the ST3+ rota if applicable. Applications for daytime-only hours without out-of-hours commitments will be considered.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for doctors seeking to expand their experience across different medical specialties, engage in quality improvement and teaching, or support postgraduate exam preparation.

There may be opportunities for those interested in a longer-term non-training grade role to progress to a substantive specialty doctor position within Acute and General Medicine, with support for skill development, including in medical high-dependency care.
