The NHS is seeking a Matron to support patient flow and uphold nursing excellence in London. This role involves managing nursing care quality, ensuring patient safety, and leading clinical governance initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a registered nurse qualification and significant leadership experience, with a commitment to high-quality patient care.
Through strong clinical leadership, the Matron will support patient flow and Departmental Senior Nurses to promote excellence in nursing care, maintaining and improving clinical standards. The post holder will ensure all patients are treated with compassion, dignity, and respect, valuing the diversity of the community served. The Matron will promote best practices in infection prevention by ensuring a clean and safe environment, with clinical practices aligned with Trust policies and guidelines to minimize infection risks.

The Matron's key responsibility is to support patient flow within the division and ensure a high-quality patient experience, fostering confidence through visibility, accessibility, and surveillance. The post requires working clinically for approximately 20% of the time, and the Matron may serve as a specialist in their clinical area. They will also oversee the implementation of the Matron's Charter in their area.
The Matron reports directly to the Head of Nursing, who oversees operational management and strategic direction. The Directors, General Managers, and Heads of Nursing lead each Directorate.

Salary: £53,755 to £60,504 per annum plus HCA
