Job summary

MBDA is seeking engineers in Stevenage with strong mathematical content and expertise in dynamic systems, MATLAB & Simulink, and process improvement. The role offers a hybrid pattern of 2–3 days on site per week, a salary between £55,000 and £65,000, and eligibility checks (BPSS) after offer.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification or equivalent experience with mathematical content (e.g., Control Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science)
• Technical leadership experience
• Strong understanding of dynamic systems and mathematical modelling, including mechanical systems, motor and feedback systems such as sensors
• Experienced user of MATLAB & Simulink tools
• Proven experience of process improvement and being part of a continuous improvement culture
• Strong communicator with the ability to influence, collaborate and network
• Ability to validate mathematical models using real-world hardware performance data
• Ability to generate sub-system or component requirements in support of system architecture development
• Conduct Monte Carlo simulations to assess product performance and reliability across a range of stochastic variable and expected manufacturing tolerances
• An ability to justify and support production test limits

Salary: Between £55,000 - £65,000 depending on experience

Dynamic (hybrid) working: 2-3 days per week due to workload classification

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship.

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.
