Job summary

MBDA UK Ltd in Stevenage is recruiting an engineer to lead the development of complex dynamic systems within the Actuation Systems Centre of Excellence Servo domain. You will apply advanced modelling and provide technical leadership across the team.

The role offers £55,000–£65,000 depending on experience, dynamic hybrid working with 2–3 days on-site, and BPSS security clearance for British citizens or dual nationals. Excellent benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification or equivalent experience with mathematical content (e.g. Control Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science).
• Technical leadership experience.
• Strong understanding of dynamic systems and mathematical modelling, including mechanical systems, motor and feedback systems such as sensors.
• Experienced user of MATLAB & Simulink tools.

Job description

An exciting new role has emerged within the Actuation Systems Centre of Excellence Servo domain looking for an experienced engineer to lead the development of complex dynamic systems.

Salary: Between £55,000 - £65,000 depending on experience

Dynamic (hybrid) working: 2-3 days per week on-site due to workload classification

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship.

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

What we're looking for from you

• Degree qualification or equivalent experience with mathematical content (e.g Control Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science)
• Technical leadership experience
• Strong understanding of dynamic systems and mathematical modelling, which include mechanical systems, motor and feedback systems such as sensors.
• Experienced user of MATLAB & Simulink tools
• Proven experience of process improvement and being a part of a continuous improvement culture
• Strong communicator with the ability to influence, collaborate and network
• A proven ability to validate mathematical models using real-world hardware performance data
• Ability to generate sub-system or component requirements in support of system architecture development
• Conduct Monte Carlo simulations to assess product performance and reliability across a range of stochastic variable and expected manufacturing tolerances
• An ability to justify and support production test limits.
