Job summary

Star Actuarial is seeking an actuary (or nearing qualification) to lead reinsurance pricing for life and pensions products. You will negotiate terms with reinsurers, manage relationships with counterparties, and work closely with the Chief Actuary to design capital-efficient solutions addressing longevity, lapse and mortality risks.

The role includes overseeing collateral and reporting for reinsurance treaties, in a hybrid South East office setup.

Qualifications

• Actuary with strong knowledge of reinsurer treaties, pricing and UK Defined Benefit Pensions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reporting to Chief Actuary and coordinating with pricing and reporting teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform reinsurance pricing activities and negotiate terms with reinsurers.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal and external partners including counterparties.
• Design and deploy capital-efficient solutions to manage longevity, lapse and mortality risks.
• Oversee operational aspects of reinsurance treaties, including collateral, administration and reporting.
• Collaborate with BPA Pricing team and Head of Reporting to ensure smooth operations.
