Job summary

The Emerald Group in Aylesbury is seeking an experienced actuary to manage and mentor junior members of the life actuarial and pricing teams. You will drive reinsurance pricing and stakeholder engagement across internal and external counterparties.

You will work with senior leaders to design and report on capital-efficient solutions addressing longevity, lapse and mortality risks, while overseeing operational aspects of reinsurance treaties and collateral arrangements.

Qualifications

• Qualified Actuary or nearly qualified, with a view to qualifying in the short term.
• Experience in Pricing/Actuarial/ reporting within UK Life assurance or reinsurer pricing/administration.
• Experience of managing stakeholders at all levels.
• DB pensions and longevity swap knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Conduct reinsurance pricing activities, including discussions with reinsurers and negotiate reinsurance terms
• Build and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders including reinsurance counterparties
• Work with the Chief Actuary, BPA Pricing team, and Head of Reporting to design, administer and report capital efficient solutions that effectively manage key risks, including Longevity, lapse and mortality
• Implement and oversee operational aspects of reinsurance treaties, including collateral and administration arrangements and reporting solutions
