Job summary

Pacific Life Re Limited is seeking a nearly or qualified Actuary in Assumption Development, R&D to join our global life reinsurance business. You will develop best estimate assumptions across Longevity and Protection, guiding data analysis, model fitting, validation and final approvals.

You will work with R&D and other teams, challenge pricing assumptions, mentor junior staff, and contribute to actuarial research with external partners. A proactive, collaborative approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Nearly qualified or Fellow of IFoA/SOA or similar organisation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to deliver in new or evolving areas with support.

Responsibilities

• Develop market-leading assumptions by sourcing data and building models.
• Provide robust challenge to assumptions used by Pricing.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the company on technical recommendations.
• Support actuarial research and engage with academic partners.
• Mentor R&D team members and support junior colleagues.
