Actuarial Reporting Specialist - Salary is Competitive

Location - Bristol or York

This is a great job for someone who wants to get involved in both life and general insurance actuarial work and deliver results as part of a dynamic reporting team in Aviva International Insurance (AII), Aviva’s internal reinsurance company.

The role would suit a qualified actuary who wants to be involved in reporting and seeing how a small Aviva company operates as well as supporting the wider Aviva Group Capital team.

A bit about the job:

The role is in the Capital and Actuarial Reporting team which is responsible for producing the actuarial reporting for AII. It is a role with a breadth of reporting responsibilities.

You will support the delivery of our regulatory deliveries for Solvency II capital reporting. Additionally, you will provide information and advice to support management decisions, involving corporate planning, sensitivities, solvency monitoring and other financial reporting analysis.

As a reporting team covering a mix of both Life and GI business reinsured from the UK and Canada you would have the opportunity to be involved in a wide range of work within the capital and reporting space.

As a part of the wider Aviva Group Capital and Actuarial Reporting team, there would also be opportunities to support Aviva Group reporting.

Prior life and / or general insurance reporting experience is desirable but it is not essential because full training will be given.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

You will have existing actuarial skills that you can bring to the team. Further skills would include the ability to:

  • Critically analyse information received and understand what it means for AII

  • Plan work, and manage multiple stakeholders and deliver results

  • Work collaboratively in a team and with other colleagues across the business

  • Communicate well, with the ability to explain technical actuarial and accounting information in a simple way

  • Experience of reporting processes and the Finance control environment is desirable but not essential
