Job summary

Willis Re is seeking a nearly or newly qualified actuary to lead the development of Actuarial Analytics. You will design and deliver analytical solutions across Property, Marine, Specialty, Aviation and Cyber to enhance pricing and portfolio management.

This role involves building tools, models and automated reporting for business stakeholders, with a strong emphasis on Python, SQL and AI-enabled workflows. London-based, with close collaboration to brokers and analytics peers.

Qualifications

• Nearly or newly qualified actuary (FIA, ACAS, FCAS or equivalent).
• Experience within general insurance, reinsurance, specialty insurance or broking analytics.
• Strong programming capability, particularly in Python.
• Experience developing tools, models, reporting solutions or analytical applications used by business stakeholders.
• Knowledge of SQL and experience working with large or complex data sets.
• Understanding of pricing and portfolio analytics, including experience and exposure rating techniques.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• An innovative mindset with an interest in emerging technologies, including Generative AI.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain pricing, exposure and portfolio analytics tools used across the treaty reinsurance business.
• Build predictive models, automated reporting solutions and analytical frameworks to support brokers and clients.
• Apply statistical and machine learning techniques where appropriate, ensuring robust validation and governance.
• Work closely with brokers and analytics colleagues to identify opportunities for new tools and process improvements.
• Leverage AI and automation to enhance analytical workflows and drive efficiency.
• Maintain high standards of testing, documentation, version control and model governance.
• Support peer review activities and contribute to the development of junior colleagues.
