Job summary

LSC is seeking an energetic Activity Leader for wraparound care in Manchester. You will deliver before and after school care, creating a safe, inclusive environment where children can learn through play and build confidence.

The role involves supervising children, promoting positive behaviour, and leading creative activities. This position offers term-time hours (Mon-Fri, up to 15 hours/week, 3:00pm–6:00pm) with competitive hourly pay and ongoing development opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with children in a club, school, or childcare setting.
  • Access to a car or the ability to travel to the location.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid DBS clearance or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging wraparound care before and after the school day, creating a safe, inclusive and stimulating environment.
  • Support children’s social development and encourage positive behaviour.
  • Lead engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote creativity, play and physical activity.
  • Supervise children at all times, ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
  • Set up and tidy activity areas and equipment before and after sessions.
  • Maintain accurate registers, report concerns and follow safeguarding procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with school staff and the wider LSC team.
  • Support the planning and delivery of themed holiday club sessions when required.

Activity Leader – Wraparound Care

Location: Manchester (M14 6PL)

Salary: Up to £15.00 per hour (dependant on experience)
Hours: Monday – Friday, term time only, up to 15 hours per week (3:00pm – 6:00pm daily)

Essential
