Job summary

Fairlie Healthcare Group is seeking a passionate, creative and enthusiastic Activity Coordinator to join Woodstown House, Banstead, on a 9-month FTC to cover maternity leave. You will plan and deliver a wide range of recreational and therapeutic activities for residents with neurological conditions, promoting wellbeing, independence and quality of life, with a 38-hour week, Monday to Friday.

You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to create engaging activities that support

• Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• A team player who understands the importance of working collaboratively.
• Previous experience working in the UK is required.
• Willing to undertake further training and development.

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide a variety of meaningful leisure and recreational activities for patients with neurological disabilities and conditions.
• Create engaging activities such as arts and crafts, gardening, animal activities, sports, games, dance and movement, drama and music.
• Organise and support community outings, helping patients stay connected with their local community and enjoy new experiences.
• Support patients to participate in activities that promote their physical, mental and emotional well-being, confidence and independence.
• Encourage patients to develop their interests and abilities through meaningful and enjoyable activities.
• Support patients in accessing community resources and services, helping them to become more integrated within their local community.
• Work closely with our wider multidisciplinary team, including nurses, therapists and other care professionals, to ensure activities are meaningful and appropriate to individual needs.
• Follow the direction and guidance of senior staff, managers and therapists while contributing positively to the wider care team.

About the Role

As an Activity Coordinator, you will play an important role in creating meaningful and enjoyable experiences for our patients. You will plan and deliver a wide range of recreational, leisure and therapeutic activities that promote well-being, confidence, independence and quality of life.
