Job summary

Cartrefi Cymru Co-operative is hiring an Activity Coordinator to lead community activities and training for people with learning disabilities in North Wales. The role is base Bangor or Porthmadog with travel across the region, 37 hours per week, including occasional evenings and weekends.

You will develop engaging programs, promote inclusion, and maintain records while collaborating with local partners. A full driving licence and Welsh language ability preferred are important for success.

  • Be fluent in Welsh is preferred so you can communicate with Welsh-speaking service users.

Responsibilities

  • Support people with learning disabilities to develop their skills and increase independence.
  • Deliver a programme of engaging community activities and training to help individuals achieve their goals.
  • Encourage and enable individuals to access and participate in their local community.
  • Adapt activities and training to suit different levels of understanding and communication needs.
  • Build relationships and collaborate with local organisations and agencies to create opportunities for the people we support.
  • Promote inclusion by ensuring participants have a say in the design and delivery of projects.
  • Maintain records, track progress, and evaluate the impact of activities.
  • Be a positive ambassador for Cartrefi Cymru, promoting our values and strengthening our reputation.
  • Identify gaps in local services and find creative, sustainable ways to address them.

Role: Activity Coordinator

Location:Base Bangor or Porthmadog but expected to travel around North Wales for the role

Hours:37 hours;can include days, evenings and weekends.

Salary:£34,416.57 paand our travel expenses is paid 55p per mile

Contract: Permanent

Interviews to take place the week beginning the 7th September 2026.

  • have access to your own car and happy to use,as well as obtaining business insurance for your vehicle for which we pay 55p per mile to cover this
  • being fluent in Welsh is preferredso you can effectively communicate with Welsh-speaking service users and meet their cultural and linguistic needs.
