Job summary

Cygnet Group is seeking an Activity Co-ordinator for Long Eaton Day Services to support people with learning disabilities and complex needs. The role is full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm, on site.

You will assist an Occupational Therapist, help plan engaging activities, and contribute to a safe, inclusive interdisciplinary team. DBS check is required; benefits include pension, CPD opportunities, and free meals.

Qualifications

• Experience and/or passion for healthcare and learning disabilities.
• Some knowledge of Occupational Therapy.
• Creative flair and ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• Awareness of recovery approaches and social inclusion (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Encouraging patients to access and become involved in activities and maintain hobbies.
• Planning and implementing therapy programmes and obtaining materials as needed.
• Contributing ideas and facilitating events and activities in a safe manner.

Long Eaton Day Services

Long Eaton Day Services specialises in supporting individuals with a primary diagnosis of a learning disability, in addition to those with complex health needs, physical disabilities and those with autism. We have a long history of enhancing the quality of life of the individuals who attend the service.

Your Day-to-Day

We are seeking an academically strong candidate to support and enhance the care of patients at the service by assisting the Occupational Therapist with;

• Encouraging patients to access and become involved in a variety of activities as well maintaining any pre-existing hobbies.
• Planning and implementing therapy programmes whilst ensuring appropriate materials are obtained
• Contributing ideas, facilitating events and activities in a safe manner

We're looking for someone who has

• Experience and/or a passion for working in healthcare and with learning disabilities
• Some knowledge of Occupational Therapy
• A creative flair and the ability to work as part of a interdisciplinary team
• An awareness of recovery approaches and social inclusion (desirable)
