Job summary

Quantum Care is seeking an Activity Care Assistant at The Mead Care Home in Borehamwood to support residents with engaging activities and a caring, person-centred approach. You will help deliver a diverse programme that enriches daily life and fosters independence in residents.

This part-time/flexi role offers 15-20 hours per week with weekday shifts 7:30am–2:30pm or 2:30pm–9:30pm and alternate weekends. Training is provided and applicants must be 18+.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role preferred.
• Care for older people with compassion and respect.
• Full, high quality training and ongoing learning opportunities.
• Shift work including weekends and Bank Holidays.
• Must be aged 18 years or over to apply.
• Good computer and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organise and deliver a variety of engaging activities and social events for residents.
• Utilise the resources and computer to inform families on resident activities.
• Deliver a lively, diverse programme of activities designed to stimulate, entertain and uplift residents.
• Use your communication skills, creativity and warm personality to build meaningful connections and create moments that enrich residents' lives.
• Bring enthusiasm, compassion and a positive energy to create a joyful and supportive atmosphere.
• Produce newsletters for residents and the home, send email updates to relatives, and keep social media pages updated.

Pay: £13.61 per hour weekdays & £14.61 per hour weekends

We are seeking a Activity Care Assistant to join our warm and supportive team at The Mead Care Home in Borehamwood. With a friendly atmosphere and strong sense of community, The Mead provides residential, dementia and respite care, where residents and colleagues alike are valued, supported and encouraged to thrive.

As an Activity Care Assistant, you will provide compassionate person-cantered care and support residents with respect and dignity to maintain independence.

What You’ll Bring

• Experience in a similar role is preferred. We provide full, high quality training and ongoing support.
• You will be able to undertake all aspects of caring for older people with compassion and respect in order to meet the physical, emotional and social needs of our residents.
• Our staff have access to first class induction training and ongoing learning and development opportunities including the opportunity to work towards industry recognised qualifications.
• Our Homes operate on a 24/7, 365-day basis therefore you will need to be able to work shifts (including weekends, evenings and Bank Holidays).

• Bring enthusiasm, compassion and a positive energy to every day, helping to create a joyful and supportive atmosphere throughout the home.
• Use your IT skills to produce newsletters for residents and the home, send email updates to relatives about activities and resident progress, and keep our social media pages—such as Facebook—updated and engaging.
