Job summary

Scottish Borders Council is seeking an Activity Assistant at St Ronan's Residential Home, Innerleithen. The role involves assisting people with complex needs and dementia, supporting Activity Teams to run planned activities, and learning each resident's requirements for individualised plans.

You'll help facilitate group activities and events to promote socialisation, recreation and relaxation, under a committed local authority team with clear values and person-centred care.

• PVG Adults is required (we will process it).
• Demonstrates independence, choice, rights, dignity, privacy.
• Ability to apply core care values in daily duties.

Job Title: Activity Assistant

Hours: 10.25 hours per week

Salary*: £13.52 per hour/ £26,083.91 pro rata per annum

Contract: Permanent

Training: All training is provided.

The role

• Supporting people with complex needs and enhanced dementia
• Provide assistance and support to Activity Teams within the care homes to enable planned activities to take place.
• Be involved with the Activity Teams within each care home to learn about the individual requirements for activities.
• To facilitate planned group activity.
• In partnership with the Activity Teams within each care home, plan events to encourage socialisation, recreation and relaxation.
