Job summary

Elysium Healthcare is seeking an Activities Coordinator for Wellesley Hospital in Wellington, Somerset. You will plan and deliver activities to support service users with mental health needs, working with the multidisciplinary team.

You will coordinate 1-1 and group activities, assess interests, keep notes, and liaise with community resources; benefits include salary, leave, meals, wellbeing, training, pension, life assurance.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 12 months experience in a mental health setting (Desirable).
  • Ability to communicate effectively within a team-based framework.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate social and recreational activities for service users in a secure environment.
  • Obtain information on interests and plan activities accordingly.
  • Record observations and progress in clinical notes under supervision.
  • Develop links with community resources to support engagement.
  • Assist in safety, health and welfare duties as required.

Being an Activities Coordinator is so much more than just organising programmes. It's providing care and support to some of the most vulnerable people in society.You will join the team at Wellesley Hospital where you will create an activity-based culture, which will see you use technical and creative skills to assist in developing, delivering and coordinating programmes focused on social, recreational and leisure activities.You will be responsible for creating 1-1 and group rapports with service users to help evolve and shape the activities to increase engagement. As you plan and implement activities around their interests, this should also have a strong emphasis on their individual needs to support the treatment plans.Working alongside the multidisciplinary team, you will develop links with community-based resources to support service users to engage in local activities.At Elysium, we want the best for you. You will be working at Wellesley Hospital, a purpose built 101 bed hospital in Wellington (Somerset) for men and women with mental health needs.There are 6 wards for people with mental health needs and 1 ward for people with Learning Disabilities and Autism.The Wellesley Hospital built in 2017 works alongside Devon Partnership NHS Trust, Avon and Wiltshire Foundation Trust, Cornwall Foundation Trust,2gether Foundation Trust, and Livewell to deliver the best possible environment for patients with mental health issues.
