Job summary

Collisdene Care Centre in Strathaven, South Lanarkshire, is seeking an Activities Co-Ordinator to plan and deliver engaging activities tailored to Service Users' needs at our care home.

You will lead monthly and individual programmes, encourage participation by staff, relatives and friends, help maintain records, and contribute to a warm, home-like environment through person-centred support.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to develop and organise a range of events/activities for Service Users in all categories
• Friendly, creative and confident
• Good numerical and word processing skills
• Genuine interest in working with the relevant Service Users group
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Confident team player
• Satisfactory Policy Check and PoVA list verification

Responsibilities

• Help Service Users to socialise within the Care Centre and provide a variety of activities
• Plan and initiate monthly rolling/individual programmes and encourage Service Users to maintain pre-existing hobbies
• Encourage Staff Members, Relatives and Friends to participate in the Care Centre activities
• Accompany Service Users to off-site activities when needed and outside normal hours
• Assist in creating an atmosphere that suits individual Service Users within the Care Centre
• Assist with fund raising and budgeting for entertainments, materials and outings
• Maintain full and accurate records of daily activities and review Care Files with the Key Worker

Collisdene Care Centre is situated in the beautiful South Lanarkshire town of Strathaven, set amongst landscaped gardens with open views of the surrounding countryside. Designed to provide person-centred support in small groups, Collisdene consists of three warm and welcoming houses. With a strong focus on enablement, our three small group living environments provide 24-hour individualised nursing care for people with Learning Disabilities including physical and sensory impairment.

Our priority is making our residents feel at home in a safe and welcoming environment. Our highly trained team support each individual in living as independently as possible, helping them to reach their full potential.

Role Overview

We are seeking an Activities Co-Ordinator to join our team to plan and implement activities appropriate to Service Users needs and requests.

Key Responsibilities

• Help Service Users to socialise within the Care Centre and provide a variety of activities that cater for all tastes
• Plan and initiate monthly rolling/individual programmes, and encourage Service
• Users to maintain pre-existing hobbies
• Encourage Staff Members, Relatives and Friends to participate in the Care Centres activities
• Accompany Service Users where possible to of site activities which may occasionally take place outwith normal working hours
• Help to create an atmosphere that suits individual Service Users within the Care
• Centre
• Assist with fund raising and budgeting for entertainments, materials and outings
• Maintain full and accurate records of daily activities using appropriate documents and assist the Key Worker to review and update Service User Care Files.
