Job summary

Nazareth is seeking an Activities Co-ordinator for our care home to design a structured daily programme of activities for residents, helping them stay engaged and supported.

You will work under the General Manager and deliver activities across lounges, garden, dining room, and in one-to-one sessions, promoting wellbeing, socialising, and safety. DBS/PVG required; NVQ2 in Health and Social Care or working towards level 3 desirable.

Qualifications

  • Two satisfactory references and an enhanced DBS or PVG disclosure.
  • S/NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent; may be working towards level 3.
  • Excellent planning, organisational and IT skills.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement activities that delight residents across the home.
  • Provide activities in lounges, garden, dining room, and in one-to-one sessions.
  • Promote health and safety during activity sessions and monitor resident needs.
  • Engage with residents to personalise activities and support wellbeing.

Job description

An exciting opportunity has come up in our care home for an Activities Co-ordinator. The main responsibility of this role is to provide a structured varied daily programme of activities for our residents.

The main duties and responsibilities of the role are:

  • Working under the direction of the General Manager to ensure that the social need of individual residents are met
  • Ensure that activities are carried out in all areas of the home i.e. the lounges on all floors, the garden, dining room, bedrooms for one to one, and walks outside the home
  • Provide an environment where residents have the opportunity to pursue activities of their choice and range of abilities and which help to retain abilities
  • Promote health and safety by ensuring that residents physical needs are understood and met throughout the activity sessions
  • Develop and maintain links with Residents and their visitor

All posts offered are subject to two satisfactory references and an enhanced DBS or PVG disclosure.

About You

As a Activities Co-ordinator this will mean planning and implementing the kinds of activities that will delight our residents. You enriching the lives of our residents and helping them stay physically and mentally active. This is a fun and immensely rewarding role that promotes socialising and enhances wellbeing, playing a major part in our residents’ engagement and happiness.

This role would suit someone who is passionate about making people happy, you will be the sort of person who likes to get to know people so that activities can be personalised. Parts of this role will be challenging so it is vital that you are patient and kind. You’ll have great planning, organisational and IT skills and be able to manage your time effectively.

It is desirable for you to have a S/NVQ level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care (Adults) or equivalent working towards level 3.
