Job summary

Royal Mail is hiring a Postie at Upton Delivery Office in Wirral. This fixed-term 6-month contract offers a 30-hour week, typically 10:00–17:00 across five days with some weekend work, delivering letters and parcels to local areas.

You will drive a Royal Mail van, walk routes, build customer relationships, and work outdoors in all weathers. A UK manual licence is required and a driving assessment will be needed.

Qualifications

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points).
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit and able to walk long distances and lift mailbags.
• Reliable, self-motivated and able to work outdoors in all weathers.
• Strong organisation and good time-management in a busy environment.
• Customer-focused with pride in delivering great service.

Responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office.
• Deliver post by van and on foot in your local area.
• Build relationships with customers and work outdoors in all weathers.
• Follow rota and deliver items on your route, including Sundays when required.
