Job summary

Royal Mail Group seeks a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) in Kirkwall for a fixed-term 9-month contract. You’ll work around 20 hours weekly, with a rotating schedule across evenings, delivering letters and parcels by van and on foot. You’ll be active, outdoors, and connected with the local community.

Full training is provided, along with a uniform and a Royal Mail van. A full manual UK driving licence is required, plus the ability to pass a driving assessment and handle physical duties in all

Qualifications

• Full UK manual driving licence required with up to 6 penalty points.
• Ability to pass a driving assessment and operate safely in all weathers.
• Physically able to walk long distances and lift mailbags when needed.

Responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office.
• Deliver post by van and on foot in Kirkwall.
• Build relationships with customers while working outdoors.
• Work across a rotating schedule, including weekends.
