Job summary

Royal Mail Group in Basildon is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) to join Basildon Delivery Office. The role is 30 hours per week on a fixed-term contract for 9 months, paying £16.24 per hour with overtime and a monthly pay cycle.

You will sort letters and parcels, deliver by van and on foot, build relationships with customers, and work outdoors in all weather conditions. Sundays are required on a rotating schedule.

Qualifications

• Full manual UK driving licence with up to 6 penalty points.
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit and able to walk long distances and lift 10kg+ mailbags.

Responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office.
• Deliver post by van and on foot in the local area.
• Build relationships with customers.
• Work outdoors in all weathers.
