Job summary

Royal Mail is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) in Preston for a fixed-term 6-month contract. You will work 30 hours per week across 5 days in 7, with shifts 07:00–15:00 and occasional weekends, delivering letters and parcels in the local area.

You’ll sort mail, drive a Royal Mail van, and walk long distances outdoors while building customer relationships. Full training provided; uniform and van supplied. Apply online now.

Qualifications

• Full manual UK driving licence (max 6 penalty points).
• Reliable and self-motivated with a customer-focused approach.
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit and able to walk long distances, climb stairs/hills, and lift 10kg+ mailbags.

Responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office.
• Deliver post by van and on foot in your local area.
• Build relationships with customers.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
