Job summary

Glasgow Centre for Inclusive Living is seeking a part-time Personal Assistant to support a young person in Glasgow. The role involves active outdoor activities, staying safe, and adapting to the individual’s communication style as they are non-verbal.

You will work with a family and an experienced PA, with travel to parks, beaches, zoos, and other activities as part of the routine. The position requires energy, patience, reliability, and a willingness to build a trusting relationship.

Qualifications

• Energetic and active; enjoys outdoor activities.
• Patient, calm and understanding; able to support in challenging moments.
• Reliable and punctual, with a flexible approach to shifts.
• Willing to build a relationship with the person you support.
• Driver essential; access to own car.
• Experience in autism/ADHD would be helpful but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Support to keep the person safe at all times.
• Be able to keep up with high activity levels during outings.
• Provide calm support when frustration arises.
• Assist with communication, as the person is non-verbal and uses their own methods.
