Job summary

Royal Mail Group is hiring a Postie to deliver letters and parcels in Reading, working 30 hours per week on a fixed-term contract of 6 months. The role involves driving a Royal Mail van, walking routes, and serving the community with a friendly, reliable service.

You will work a rotating schedule including weekends, with full training provided and potential overtime. A driving licence and fitness to perform outdoor duties are required.

Qualifications

• Full UK manual driving licence required and must be valid.
• Able to pass a driving assessment for Royal Mail vehicles.
• Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
• Good organisational skills and customer-focused approach.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Physically fit and able to walk long distances with mailbags.

Responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office.
• Deliver post by van and on foot in your local area.
• Build relationships with customers and work outdoors.
• Handle high volumes of parcels and meet route deadlines.
